Sustainable Investment Specialist
London

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

With a background and interest in Economics, I always knew I would work in a finance-related role. I began my career in the banking sector, joining RBS’s Internal Audit department in 2014 where I qualified as a Chartered Accountant. I moved progressively closer to the front line of wealth management, joining Quilter’s Internal Audit department in 2018 before moving to Quilter Cheviot’s Sustainable Investment team in 2022.

In addition to my accountancy qualification, I have completed the CFA UK Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and Certificate in Climate and Investing (CCI).

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

In my role as Sustainable Investment Specialist, I am responsible for our sustainable investment framework and reporting. This includes ensuring our dedicated offering, including the Sustainable Opportunities Funds (previously known as the Climate Assets Funds) and the Quilter Investors Ethical Equity Fund are managed in line with evolving regulatory requirements. Since joining the team, I have developed our reporting and framework, integrating the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) framework throughout our investment process. This helps us to ensure that our clients and investors are invested in companies that make a meaningful contribution to the goals, and that our investment process is transparent. I am proud that the strength and credibility of our Sustainable Opportunities Funds framework is recognised through the Funds’ adopting the ‘Sustainability Focus’ label as part of the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) Sustainability Disclosure Requirements (SDR) regime.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I have a keen interest in both following and playing sport, although I have fewer opportunities than I used to with my two young sons keeping me busy.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
