What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

I've worked in the wealth and investment management industry for more than 14 years, building experience across operations, digital services, product development, and investment propositions.

I came into the investment industry somewhat by chance when I accepted my first role after moving south. However, it quickly became clear that the sector was a natural fit. I enjoy analysing challenges, connecting ideas, and developing solutions that deliver meaningful benefits for clients.

Throughout my career, I've worked across a broad range of areas within wealth and investment management, helping firms evolve their offerings in response to changing client needs, regulatory developments, and market trends. What continues to motivate me is the opportunity to make a positive difference for clients by developing innovative and effective investment solutions.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

As Investment Management Proposition Manager at Quilter Cheviot, my focus is on enhancing and developing investment propositions that help clients achieve their objectives. I work across the business to identify opportunities to improve client outcomes, challenge established thinking, and ensure our solutions continue to evolve alongside changing client and market needs.

One of the most rewarding achievements of my career was leading the implementation of Consumer Duty across Investec Wealth & Investment. This involved embedding customer-focused thinking throughout propositions, governance, and business processes, while balancing commercial objectives and regulatory requirements to deliver good client outcomes.

Alongside my day-to-day role, I've contributed to a number of industry panels and working groups covering Consumer Duty, sustainable finance, and other key developments affecting the wealth management sector. These opportunities have enabled me to collaborate with peers across the industry, share perspectives, and contribute to discussions that help shape best practice.

My colleagues would describe me as a problem solver who remains calm under pressure and isn't afraid to challenge perceptions. I enjoy bringing people together to tackle complex challenges and turning ideas into practical solutions that deliver better outcomes for clients and the business.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I'm a father of two children and spend much of my spare time travelling around the UK supporting my family in dog agility competitions. This means plenty of early starts, long journeys, training sessions, and time outdoors whatever the weather. I enjoy being part of a supportive community and appreciate the commitment, resilience, and teamwork that the sport demands.

When we're not at competitions, I enjoy spending time at home with my family, our four dogs, cat, and ten guinea pigs. Between family life, training, and caring for our animals, there's rarely a quiet moment, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
