What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
Having started my career in management accountancy, I quickly realised that what I enjoyed most wasn't just the numbers - it was working with people and helping them navigate important decisions for themselves, their families and their businesses.
My career foundations were built in stockbroking, where the fast-paced environment and the close relationships I developed with clients ultimately led me into financial planning and wealth management. Throughout my career, my guiding principle has been to become genuinely invaluable to clients by offering thoughtful, out of the box thinking and by leveraging a trusted network of specialists who can help them achieve their goals.
Today, I enjoy combining the strategic elements of my role with the opportunity to support founders, entrepreneurs and business owners. It is a segment that is often underserved, despite facing some of the most complex financial and personal decisions. Helping these clients connect the dots, unlock opportunities and achieve their ambitions is what I find most rewarding about what I do.
How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
I try to approach each day with curiosity, energy and a focus on helping others. A big part of my role is bringing people together, whether that's connecting clients with the right expertise or working with colleagues across the business to create better outcomes. I enjoy building relationships, sharing ideas and looking for opportunities to improve what we do.
I am a goal-oriented person, so I tend to start each day with a clear set of priorities. Breaking larger goals into manageable steps which helps me maintain momentum both personally and within my team.
What are your interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether that's swimming off the coast of Devon or heading off on a camping trip with my family. I also play pickleball, which combines competition, all-round general fitness and a good social scene. More recently, I've been learning Italian, which has been both rewarding and challenging in equal measure.
