What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

My journey into wealth management took an unconventional route, starting with a Bachelor Of Music degree from Lancaster University. This decision led me to a dynamic career in business development, spanning over 30 years. My experiences included representing various financial entities, from life companies to platform providers. In the last five years, I transitioned to investment management, driven by a desire to be more directly engaged in the adviser and client journey. I'm passionate about the profound impact financial professionals can have on clients and their families for generations to come.

How do you look after clients?

With over three decades of experience, I've honed my skills in business development and now serve as the London Sales Director for Quilter Cheviot, managing a regional BDM team. My commitment to clients is centered on delivering a personal and tailored service. By understanding their unique needs and objectives, I aim to help them achieve their financial goals. I am drawn to client-facing roles as they provide the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on clients' financial well-being.

What are your interests outside of work?

Beyond my professional pursuits, my main interest is in karate. I hold a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Shotokan and have been actively involved in teaching, competing, and refereeing in the sport for many years. More recently, I've ventured into Para-Karate competition. This passion for martial arts keeps me physically active and helps me find balance outside of the financial world.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
