Ollie Creasey

Head of Property Research
London

What attracted you to a career in wealth management

I took a slightly circuitous route into the wealth management industry, as I joined Quilter Cheviot with eleven years’ experience in different investment roles. I worked on both the sell-side and buy-side of investment banking firms, as well as for a private equity real estate firm, which was where I picked up most of my property experience. Joining Quilter Cheviot offered me the chance to head up the property research department, and make investment decisions that have directly impact client outcomes for the better.

What would you like to achieve for clients?

I’ve been Quilter Cheviot’s head of property research since 2017, where my primary goal is picking stocks (both property companies and housebuilders) and property funds that outperform, as well as providing input to strategic asset allocation decisions. We have a preference for high quality companies with positive long-term outlooks, and a relatively cheap valuation is always helpful too The majority of property investment decisions I’ve made or assisted with have been successful and outperformed the benchmark, although inevitably some have been better than others!

What are you passionate about in life

In work, I am passionate about ESG, serving on the positive change committee, and have a Certificate in ESG Investing that showcases this commitment. I also care deeply about equality and diversity, and participate in our Gender Equality Network.

Outside of work, I play badminton and squash regularly, and am a big music fan – the fact that my Zoom background is a wall of CDs is testament to this (and also my age!).

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
