What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
My journey into wealth management began in 2008, when I graduated from university with a bachelor's degree in International Banking and Finance, and at a time when confidence in the financial system had been fundamentally shaken. The Global Financial Crisis was a defining moment that transformed financial markets and the global economy. Witnessing the rapid collapse of major financial institutions, extreme market volatility and the far-reaching impact on businesses and individuals, sparked a curiosity about how financial markets function, and the factors that drive investment decisions.
I joined Deutsche Bank in 2008 where I trained to be an Investment Manager and spent almost 11 years with the firm which saw a number of transitions to Tilney and latterly Evelyn Partners. In 2018, I was headhunted by Barclays, and I spent 8 years working as a Private Banker advising individuals, founders and families with substantial wealth across the Northwest and North Wales before joining Quilter Cheviot in June 2026.
I am a Chartered Fellow of the of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (CISI) and hold the title of Chartered Wealth Manager, awarded by the CISI to recognise senior members in the sector at the pinnacle of their profession.
I am also a past President of the CISI Liverpool, Chester & North Wales branch.
How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
Behind every portfolio is a family and a story. My clients are investing to provide opportunity for their families, to enjoy the lifestyle they've worked long and hard to build, to retire with confidence and ultimately leave a defining legacy. Markets move constantly, but my role is to understand those client aspirations and ensure that every investment decision supports the outcomes that matter most to them and isn't a reaction to short term noise.
I pride myself on 3 things: 1. Building relationships based on mutual trust and respect, 2. Communicating proactively with clients and 3. Being consistent in terms of what I do and say. I feel this is the very least a client can expect from a trusted adviser.
What are your interests outside of work?
I am married to Laura, and we have 2 young children together, so most of my time outside the office is spent with them, exploring new places and taking in new experiences. We love to travel and are especially fond of trips to the US, particularly our spiritual home, California.
I am a passionate supporter of Liverpool Football Club who I've followed all over the world and seen lift a trophy or two along the way!
