Jack Simmons
Investment Administrator
Birmingham
What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
I've had an interest in economics and finance since 2017, which developed further into a specific interest in financial markets and wealth management by 2022, where I explored trading futures contracts, using heavy data and mathematical driven techniques, and have been actively keeping up with all relevant information since. I have graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BSc (Hons) in Economics with International Finance and Banking, with a big ambition to complete a Level 4 IAD, and a Level 7 CWM, hoping to eventually become an Investment Manager at Quilter Cheviot. Previously I have worked as a Business Development Executive, gaining experience in communication and commercial skills, whilst being responsible for client engagement, solutions, and tailoring the experience to each client's needs.
How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
As an Investment Administrator, I support Investment Managers and the wider team with day-to-day management of client portfolios. This includes assisting with tasks such as preparing client reviews, investment portfolios and supporting suitability processes whilst developing my understanding of portfolio management. Having recently started in the role, I am focused on building a strong foundation, learning processes, and developing my technical knowledge.
What are your interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I continue to follow financial markets closely, particularly the S&P500 futures, as well as emerging data-driven analytical techniques, and the growing role of AI investment decision-making. Beyond my professional pursuits, I enjoy maintaining an active lifestyle, and regularly playing a range of sports, including football, tennis, badminton, and mountain biking. I am a keen supporter of Wolves, having followed the club from when I was born through 70+ years of family traditions. I also enjoy travelling across the world, always looking to explore new places, and catching up with friends about the latest events at the local pub.
