What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
I was drawn to wealth management because it combines two things that are important to me, helping people achieve their goals and continually striving to be the best version of myself. A career centred around acting in clients' best interests felt like a natural fit.
My journey into wealth management began in 2019 when I joined the Quilter Financial Adviser School, working with a firm within the wider Quilter network. I then moved to an IFA practice in West Sussex, where I worked within the paraplanning team and gained valuable technical experience. Following this, I was fortunate to join the Graduate Financial Planning Scheme at Forvis Mazars, where I achieved my Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning through the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), alongside my Diploma with the LIBF.
One of the aspects I enjoy most about wealth management is the opportunity to satisfy my naturally inquisitive nature.
How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
I approach each day with a mindset of continuous learning and improvement. Being surrounded by colleagues with a wealth of experience, this provides a fantastic opportunity to develop both professionally and personally, so I try to absorb as much knowledge as possible from those who have successfully built careers in the same industry.
I enjoy being part of a wider team and make a conscious effort to build relationships across the business. Whether it's catching up with colleagues over a coffee or simply taking an interest in what others do, I believe collaboration and curiosity are key to both personal development and delivering the best outcomes for clients.
While it may sound like a cliché, I aim to achieve something meaningful every day, either professionally or personally.
What are your interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and experiencing new cultures. Most recently, my fiancé and I returned from an unforgettable trip across Australia and Southeast Asia, which gave us the opportunity to explore some incredible places.
I am also passionate about cooking, which is where I get to express my creative side. I enjoy experimenting with flavours and techniques... no need for a recipe book!
Networking and building meaningful relationships are also important to me. I enjoy attending networking events and being a part of professional networks to continue expanding both my personal and professional connections.
When I'm not travelling or cooking, you'll often find me on the golf course. I am a member at Crowborough Beacon Golf Club, a course renowned for its stunning South Downs views and heathland setting.
