Edward Cobden Ramsay
Investment Advisor
London
What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
I began my career at an independent financial adviser firm, where I obtained the Investment Advice Diploma (IAD) and a Certificate in Paraplanning. While I valued the breadth of advice, I moved into discretionary wealth management to play a more active role in investment decision-making. Since joining Quilter Cheviot, I've built experience managing portfolios for private clients, trusts, and charities, and am now a fully qualified Chartered Wealth Manager. My academic background in Human Geography from Newcastle University, where I specialised in economic and geopolitical geography, has given me a strong foundation for navigating global markets.
How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
As an Investment Adviser, my work centres on building and managing multi-asset portfolios that reflect each client's objectives, risk profile, and personal circumstances. I maintain close relationships with clients and professional partners, ensuring strategies adapt to changing conditions while staying true to long-term goals. My days blend monitoring markets, reviewing portfolios, and contributing ideas to investment discussions that can add value across our client base.
What are your interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I'm a keen golfer and tennis player, and an Ipswich Town fan - which means I'm no stranger to volatility. I also enjoy travelling and getting involved in animal conservation projects.
