David Coffey
Investment Manager
Dublin
What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
I have worked in the financial services industry for over twenty-five years, holding roles at Goodbody Stockbrokers, Cantor Fitzgerald, Gillen, and now Quilter Cheviot Europe. I am a Registered Stockbroker, a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA), and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). What attracted me to wealth management was the opportunity to help clients make informed financial decisions and work with them to achieve their long-term goals.
How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
As an Investment Advisor, I work with private clients and families to understand their objectives and risk tolerance, and to build investment portfolios that reflect their needs. I focus on providing clear advice, maintaining regular contact, and helping clients stay focused on their long-term plans. I also have a strong interest in financial history, which helps inform my perspective on markets and investing.
What are your interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy golf and reading, particularly biographies, history, business, and leadership books. I am also actively involved in my local Tidy Towns committee and am currently relearning the Irish language (Is breá liom é). I serve as a Councillor on Dublin City Council, where I work on issues affecting local communities and contribute to policy discussions on a range of civic and public service matters.
