What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

My interest in wealth management began while studying Economics at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, where I quickly discovered the practical impact of thoughtful financial decision‑making. Investing my student loans would later fund further study at UC Berkeley in California – an experience that reinforced my belief in how disciplined financial planning, and investing, can help people achieve life‑changing goals, while also addressing more routine financial challenges. Those early insights, combined with a passion for financial markets and helping others, naturally led me toward a career in wealth management.

Before joining Quilter Cheviot in 2021, I held senior investment management positions at Brewin Dolphin and Barclays Wealth, where I chaired the national UK Equities Committee. I am a Chartered Wealth Manager and hold an MBA from Warwick Business School.

What would you like to achieve for clients?

My focus is simple: to provide clients with the clarity, confidence, and strategic insight needed to achieve their financial goals. I take time to understand what truly matters, to clients, and explain often complex investment topics in a clear, relatable manner. I also collaborate closely with financial advisers, and other professionals, to support clients with their broader planning needs.

While long‑term investing can be highly rewarding, navigating financial markets can at times be challenging and unsettling. I guide clients through these periods with a calm, disciplined approach, helping them stay focused and make informed decisions with confidence.

What are you passionate about in life?

Outside of work - and the duties of 'Dad's taxi' - I enjoy getting outdoors through obstacle-course racing, mountain biking, and skiing. Travel is also a passion, with Asia being a frequent and favourite destination.

I also serve as Chair of the Board of Trustees for a local Scout Group, supporting their mission to create enriching opportunities for young people.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
