Reflections on the proxy voting season - Q4 2021

Date: 07 July 2023

1 minute read

This quarter’s focus was on catching up with companies and funds to understand how their approach to ESG factors is evolving – it also saw some engagements with overseas companies, as these were added into our voting universe earlier in the year.

Excitingly, we launched our climate thematic engagement which is focused on the largest carbon emitters within our direct equity universe. This will be an ongoing engagement over time with the initial discussions focusing on reporting and disclosure and fits within one of our three thematic priorities: climate action.

As part of Quilter plc., we will be producing our first TCFD (Task-force for Climate-related Financial Disclosures) in early March.

Responsible investment

At Quilter Cheviot we see responsible investment as a process that analyses ESG data to help inform investment decisions and to ensure that all relevant factors are accounted for when assessing risk and return.
