Head of Birmingham Office
Birmingham

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

My interest in financial markets started from an early age and led me to pursue a career in investment management. Following graduation from university, I started my professional life at Quilter Cheviot in 1999 and became a CFA charterholder in 2004. Having initially focused on managing discretionary portfolios, I seized the opportunity to have an influence on the broader firm by building and leading the Fund Research team. My role was expanded further when I became Co-Head of the Managed Portfolio Service in 2012. In 2018, my commitment to ensuring positive client outcomes led me to take on the role of presiding over the newly formed Client Oversight function. Most recently in 2022, I was appointed as the Head of the Birmingham office in 2022, where I am dedicated to driving growth in the West Midlands. With my broad and extensive experience,  I have gained valuable insights into various aspects of our business and its crucial role in our clients' financial well-being.

How do you look after clients?

Over my career, my focus has evolved from successfully developing and leading internal teams to overseeing critical client-centric functions. As the Head of the Birmingham office, my responsibilities encompass delivering favourable client outcomes and overseeing governance, risk and controls. I enjoy engaging with clients, intermediaries and professional connections to gain a deep understanding of their financial needs and aspirations and aim to provide them with a personalised and attentive service.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I relish spending quality time with my family and friends. As a sports enthusiast, I have a passion for skiing, football, cricket and rugby, whether actively participating or cheering on my sons. Rooted in a family background of butchery and farming, my global travels have cultivated a love for food and cooking.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
