Nigel is an Investment Director providing personalised, discretionary investment management of investment portfolios for individuals, Trusts, Companies and Charities; the majority of which are located across the North West of England, North Wales and the Isle of Man. He is involved in the day-to-day management of clients’ investments, reviewing portfolios to ensure they remain suitable for individual investment mandates and client profiles, attending review meetings with investors and their advisers and looking ahead to provide guidance on current market conditions. He strives in his career to offer the highest levels of service and pushes his team hard to think through the lens of what will best serve clients.

Nigel graduated in 1997 with a BA (Hons) Business Studies degree and joined Capel-Cure Myers. A move to Tilney (taken over by Deutsche Bank in 2006) followed and he had been promoted to Investment Director by 2002. Nigel qualified via the Institute of Investment Management & Research (IIMR) exam route and is a member of the CFA Institute of the UK (ASIP). He is also a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments and holds the Financial Planning Certificate (FPC) as well. Nigel left Deutsche Bank to be part of Cheviot’s Liverpool office launch in 2011 and has been Head of the Liverpool office since January 2019. Nigel spent four years on the Quilter Cheviot Suitability Review Group Committee and now sits on the company’s Investment Oversight Committee.

Outside of work, most of Nigel’s time is devoted to bringing up a young family. He is a loyal supporter of his hometown team Chester FC and occasionally sees them win! Nigel has been an active member of Liverpool Round Table for a number of years and is a Past President and Chairman. In 2017, Nigel was invited to assist North West Cancer Research and did so on a voluntary basis for five years, helping to steer the deliberations of the Charity’s investment committee. Nigel is also an occasional media commentator having appeared on both BBC television and radio, as well as contributing his opinion on markets in a number of local newspapers and online magazines.
