Shabbir Gulamali

Investment Manager
London

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

I was drawn to a career that would allow me to build long-term relationships, collaborate closely with clients and professionals, and stay connected to financial markets. I originally joined Quilter Cheviot in October 2012, having previously worked at UBS and Capital Group. After a brief period in international private banking, I returned to Quilter Cheviot. I hold an honours degree in Banking, Finance & Management from Loughborough University, and have since attained the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), the CISI Chartered Wealth Manager qualification (RDR Level 7), and most recently, the Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ). I am a Chartered Fellow of the CISI. Over the years, I've developed strong technical expertise in finance and investments, alongside a genuine passion for helping clients achieve their financial goals through different life stages.

How do you look after clients?

As an Investment Manager, I manage bespoke portfolios for a wide range of clients including charities, private individuals, trusts, and corporations. I work closely with clients and their advisers to understand their unique circumstances and deliver tailored investment solutions aligned with their financial objectives. Regular communication and a commitment to high-quality service are central to my approach.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my young family, and we love to travel whenever we can.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
