What attracted you to a career in Financial Planning?
My attraction to financial planning stems from my passion and drive to succeed in delivering my client's objectives and outcomes. I have always enjoyed solving problems for my clients, and the prospect of helping individuals navigate their financial journey and achieve their goals ignites a sense of purpose within me. I am drawn to the dynamic nature of the role, as every client presents a unique challenge that requires a tailored and holistic approach to their finances.
I joined Quilter Cheviot's newly established Financial Planning team in December 2023, bringing with me more than 8 years of experience in achieving clients' goals. Beginning my financial career in Trust Management, I then transitioned to Retail Banking with HSBC where I progressed to the role of Wealth Manager, before furthering my career by moving into Private Banking with SG Kleinwort Hambros.
I am a Chartered Member with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (Chartered MCSI) with the CISI Level 6 Advanced Financial Planning qualification, as well as the CISI Level 6 Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice & Management. I also hold the CISI Diploma in Investment Advice (Financial Planning & Advice) and STEP Certificate in International Trust Management.
How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
I approach each day with a systematic and client-centric mindset. Keeping up to date with market trends, geo-politics and developments locally and worldwide, gives me a fundamental advantage in making sure I am giving my clients the best possible advice on a daily basis. I strive for proactive planning with strong communication, therefore fostering strong client relationships in order to achieve the best possible results for my clients going forward.
Specialising in holistic and targeted advice, I collaborate with clients locally, in the UK and internationally to manage their financial affairs, set goals, and implement tailored strategies. As a former business owner in Switzerland, I bring a wealth of experience that enables me to recognise the uniqueness of every client's needs, shaping financial plans that centre the client's objectives around every stage of their journey. Through this approach, I aid clients in identifying their needs to prioritise their short to long-term financial goals.
What are your interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I serve as a Mentor in the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment's mentorship program. In this role, I assist individuals in planning their career paths and advancing through their qualifications journey. I also enjoy being on the golf course and competing in my clubs' competitions on a weekly basis. Sport and fitness have consistently been crucial aspects of my life, motivating me to visit the gym several times each week to maintain my overall well-being. Despite transitioning from a professional skiing career, I maintain my passion by indulging in an annual winter getaway to the French Alps with my family, where I embrace the local cuisine and escape island life for a moment while I enjoy the mountain scenery.
