What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
I've always been drawn to the clarity and logic of mathematics, there's a real satisfaction in working through complex problems and arriving at a solution that makes sense. That same principle underpins wealth management: understanding a client's needs, navigating the variables, and crafting a strategy that fits. After studying Maths at St Andrews, I held several analytical roles in Edinburgh before moving to Jersey, where I began my investment management career as a hedge fund analyst at Altis Partners. There, I discovered a passion for translating technical investment insights into clear, meaningful conversations with clients. This led me to pursue the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation. My journey continued through roles in investment consultancy at ARC and leading the Family Office proposition at HSBC Private Bank, before joining Quilter, where I've found a natural home for combining analytical rigour with client-focused advice.
How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
I approach my role with a strong client-first mindset, driven by a genuine interest in getting to know people and understanding what matters most to them. This helps me tailor investment solutions that truly fit their needs. I thrive on the analytical side of the job, whether it's building portfolios or diving deep into stock and fund analysis, but what sets me apart is my ability to translate complex, technical concepts into clear, relatable language. It's this blend of precision and personal connection that defines how I work every day.
What are your interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I'm always chasing a challenge and this year I've completed an ultra-marathon, a marathon, several half marathons, and a triathlon and I'm currently training for the Three Peaks 24-hour Challenge. A personal highlight was appearing on Ninja Warrior - a surreal and unforgettable experience! Weekends are all about my two daughters, spending time with them is my greatest joy and keeps everything in perspective. I also care deeply about giving back and have served as Treasurer and Governor for the Jersey Children's Charity for over a decade, supporting local children with complex medical needs and their families.
