Trainee Investment Manager
Liverpool

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

I ventured into wealth management after gaining valuable experience and skills in various roles. Prior to this I studied at Liverpool John Moores University, gaining a degree in International Business Management before moving on to complete a Master's degree in Investment and Finance. These experiences, combined with my growing interest in the financial world provided me with a foundation and prompted me to pursue a career in wealth management. Starting as an Investment Administrator, I further developed my analytical abilities and gained further expertise in investments, which enabled me to progress into the role of Trainee Investment Manager.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

As a trainee, I support Investment Managers in achieving clients' financial goals, whilst developing and honing my own skills. This includes assisting with client meetings, constructing and monitoring bespoke investment portfolios and liaising with various stakeholders, amongst other duties. In Liverpool, Trainees benefit from exposure to various areas of expertise, from individual private clients to corporate entities and charities. With dedicated guidance from the team, a lot of responsibility and accountability is placed on our shoulders early in our careers.

What are your interests outside of work?

Beyond my professional commitments, my personal interests include supporting Liverpool Football Club.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
