What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
My fascination with the world of stock markets and investing drew me towards a career in wealth management. A formal education in economics and business further fuelled my enthusiasm for this field. I gained early experience on the investment desk of a private client financial advisory business in the 1990s and became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder in 2013. Over the years, I have navigated through the challenges and opportunities presented by events like the dotcom boom and bust and the global monetary crisis. I joined Quilter Cheviot in 2016, where I continue to enjoy the rewarding yet demanding role of investment management.
How do you work with / look after clients?
Client trust is a privilege, and I aim to honour it with responsive customer service and a well-considered investment management strategy. Backed by extensive research and insights from our central investment team, I prioritize understanding clients' objectives and timelines. These factors are crucial in defining the expected outcomes from an investment portfolio. By setting them correctly, clients have a valuable framework to ensure their financial plans stay on track, making the choice of an investment partner a sound one.
What are your interests outside of work?
My interests outside of work are diverse and wide-ranging, offering a welcome contrast to the intensity of investment management. This variety allows for a much-needed wind-down from the challenges of the field.
