2018 Paraplanner Roadshow

Looking under the bonnet: Preparing paraplanners for success

Welcome to the Quilter Cheviot PARAPLANNER ROADSHOW.

Quilter Cheviot’s first roadshow dedicated to paraplanners and exploring the changing nature of their roles.

The paraplanner role is increasingly important within the financial advice community, whether as a career in its own right or as part of the path to becoming a financial adviser. At Quilter Cheviot, we therefore decided to create our own specialist roadshow for paraplanners, recognising the additional responsibilities many in the profession are now taking on.

Our adviser focused events were recognised this  year by CityWealth and Wealth Adviser (Silver Prize – Best Events Programme 2017 & Best Marketing Campaign for 2018) and we are pleased to be building on this success and our already well known events programmes. As well as offering an opportunity to network with other paraplanners, financial advisers and the wider financial community, we will be offering a variety of speakers, covering:

  • How to channel your inner Shakespeare: The rise of smartphones, email and other technology means we have increasingly short attention spans. Find out how to gain people’s attention and present often challenging data and ensure that your work stays with them.
  • How do you eat an elephant? With the introduction of pension freedoms comes the responsibility to ensure that our clients do not run out of money in retirement. The ‘known unknowns’ of retirement, namely longevity, inflation and market returns could make this a reality. Learn why in retirement Capacity for Loss is more important than Attitude to Risk, learn how you both measure and record it?  We will introduce the elephant in the room, break it down bite by bite and discuss a process that will increase the chances of success of a sustainable income for our clients in retirement.
  • Are you forgetting the most important part of the business? Greater regulation means paraplanners can have less time to add value in their profession. Back office systems can save you time and maximise your office efficiency, with you taking back control over your work, the session will provide you some top tips on how to work smarter utilising the data at your fingertips.
  • Cashflow planning best practices: In a world of information abundance, CashCalc likes to keep things simple. So join us as we share all the best practices to help you and your team get the most out of cashflow planning. You’ll explore how best to use cashflow planning with clients, how to gather client data with much more ease and greater accuracy, and have the opportunity to get involved with our interactive session. A demonstration from the market leading provider of cashflow planning is not to be missed.

You’ll also hear from our investment experts, including what the key drivers for the remainder of 2018 will be and what trade tensions might mean for the global economy.
