Women and investing

Exploring the key ingredients for successful investing and how we can help you on your investment journey.

Whether you’re looking to invest or already have investments, we’ve compiled a number of short articles to give you a better understanding of the financial world and what it’s like to be a woman working in this industry. From Q&A’s with female professionals, maintaining a healthy work-life balance to why you should invest, we hope you find our hub interesting, inspiring and useful.

Recent research

The thought of investing can be daunting, particularly for females who often leave the finances to their other half. Recent research showed 45% of women were:

  • not confident in their finances
  • didn’t know if their own long-term financial plans would be enough to live on should their relationship end

However, given that women are expected to control 65% of the UK’s wealth by 2025, due to a higher-life expectancy than men, we don’t believe this should be the case.

Research on Generation X and Millennials found the total invested by women in these groups equated to £10.7bn and £3.6bn respectively, less than half the amount of men at £21.4bn and £7.9bn. We believe this is down to confidence and want to help you break this barrier by giving you the insight and knowledge to invest. Not only will this benefit you, but your families and generations to come.
