Majid Dawood

Chief Executive Officer of Yasaar Limited

Majid is an experienced financial services professional. He has been a key individual in the establishment of Yasaar Limited, the first Shariah compliance services company. Majid in his capacity as chief executive of Yasaar assists financial institutions structure cost-effective Shariah compliant financing structures around the globe. He is a Director of BRR Investments, set up in the early 1980s with shareholders including Robert Fleming and the International Finance Corporation, who are the managers of the first and largest Islamic leasing company in Pakistan. Prior to setting up Yasaar, Majid held the position of country representative for Credit Lyonnais Securities (Asia) Ltd as well as capital markets consultant to Credit Lyonnais and Jardine Fleming, advising on privatisation and capital market issues. Majid is a well known and much sought after speaker on Islamic finance and Shariah, having presented on these topics globally as well as having authored numerous articles for industry journals.In 2004, Majid was presented the Deloitte & Touche award for the most innovative Islamic finance product for the Caravan 1 Sukuk. Under his leadership and guidance in December 2007 Yasaar was voted "The Best Islamic Finance Advisory Firm" by the readers of Islamic Business and Finance magazine. Majid holds a BA (Economics) from the University of Massachusetts.

Daniel Jolliffe

Investment Director

Daniel’s primary role is to manage discretionary and advisory investment portfolios across multiple assetclasses for charities, financial intermediaries and Private Clients. His specific focus is on managing investment portfolios for clients that are based in the Middle-East and Switzerland. Daniel has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. He is also one of two Jersey-based Investment Manager’s that manage discretionary investment portfolios on behalf of various Charities. Daniel holds the Private Client Investment Advice & Management (PCIAM) qualification, as well as the Investment Management Certificate (IMC). During the last 6 months, he has also passed the Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) and the Certificate in ESG Investing and he is the ESG lead for the Jersey office.

Mark Leale

Head of Office and Senior Executive Officer

I am responsible for the Dubai DIFC Branch of Quilter Cheviot, including sales, marketing and regulatory matters. My focus is on developing business relationships with professional intermediaries and introducers primarily across the Middle East and Africa. Within my role, I provide technical support to our introducers, giving on-going training on our services. I work closely with our Head of International and our senior team on agreeing strategy for each region.

Mark joined Quilter Cheviot in 2016 and has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He worked for Lloyds Private Banking in Guernsey, Isle of Man and Dubai and more recently held the position of Regional Manager for Nedbank Private Wealth also in Dubai, where he has been resident since 2002.

Mark is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (Chartered MCSI). He holds the CISI International Certificate in Advanced Wealth Management.
