What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

My interest in wealth management stems from a natural combination of investing, behavioural finance, and understanding how people make financial decisions over time. After completing a degree in Psychology, I began my career at Dresdner Kleinwort, where I developed a strong interest in markets, investment strategy, and investor behaviour.

Early in my career, I worked closely with investment strategy teams analysing market events, identifying trends, and assessing investment outcomes across different market environments. After completing the relevant industry qualifications, I progressed into discretionary investment management before spending several years working alongside a major UK life insurance company, advising on asset allocation, investment strategy, and risk management. During this time, I also became responsible for one of the UK’s largest with-profits funds.

In 2018, I joined Quilter Cheviot seeking greater client interaction and the opportunity to work more closely with individuals, families, business owners, and their advisers. Since then, I have focused on helping clients navigate long-term financial decision-making through disciplined portfolio construction, thoughtful risk management, and a strong understanding of behavioural finance.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

My priority is to help clients make informed long-term financial decisions with confidence and clarity. I believe successful investing is often driven as much by disciplined decision-making and investor behaviour as market outcomes themselves.

My approach combines long-term strategic thinking with careful attention to portfolio construction, diversification, risk management, and implementation. I place a strong emphasis on understanding each client’s objectives, time horizon, and attitude towards risk, ensuring portfolios remain aligned to their broader financial goals over time.

I also work closely with financial advisers, accountants, and solicitors to ensure investment strategies align with wider financial, tax, and estate planning considerations. This collaborative approach is particularly valuable during periods of wealth transition, including business sales, retirement, inheritance, and changing family circumstances.

Ultimately, my role is to help clients navigate uncertainty with a disciplined long-term framework while maintaining a clear focus on preserving and growing wealth responsibly over time.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors exploring the countryside across Dorset, Hampshire, and Wiltshire. I train regularly, have recently taken up tennis, and am currently enjoying life with a newborn baby.

I am also a keen follower of Arsenal FC — although watching them is not always the most relaxing way to unwind — and can often be found doing so with an Italian beer in hand.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
