Andy MacLeod
Trainee Investment Manager
Glasgow
What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
A strong interest in financial markets and investing inspired me to pursue a career in wealth management, while also valuing the opportunity to work closely with clients and help them achieve their financial objectives. Following my graduation with a First-Class Honours Degree in Finance from the University of Strathclyde, I began my career at Quilter Cheviot's Glasgow office in June 2024. Since then, I have completed the CISI Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma (IAD) and am currently working towards the CISI Level 7 Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification.
How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
In my role as a Trainee Investment Manager, I support a team of investment managers in the day-to-day management of portfolios for private clients, trusts, charities, and pension funds. My approach is centred on understanding each client's objectives and circumstances to ensure portfolios are aligned with their goals. I aim to provide clear, transparent investment solutions and maintain open communication with both clients and colleagues.
What are your interests outside of work?
Away from the office, I'm all about staying active – whether it's training for my next race or squeezing in a round of golf. I'm also a big fan of travelling, discovering new places and cultures. Socialising with family and friends is the perfect way to round it all off.
