Rosie Hooper (FPFS)
Chartered Financial Planner
What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
I have always enjoyed meeting new people and being able to make a difference in their lives. Wealth Management is all about people and I invest my time to really understand the purpose behind my clients’ financial goals. I tailor my advice and financial plan to them specifically. I appreciate the money aspect of what I do is important but it’s also about my clients trusting me so they can open up and share what their dreams, aspirations, even what their biggest worries are.
How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
I use a cashflow planning tool to create a plan that runs for their lifetime which is updated and adapted as we journey through life. We often model different scenarios the clients are considering, like retiring five years early or buying a holiday home abroad. We can explore how this will affect their cashflow from a lifestyle and tax perspective before final decisions are made. My clients say they really value this as it enables them to look into the distant future, sometimes 10, 20 years ahead and see what their lifestyle could look like if they take a certain path.
What are your interests outside of work?
I am the proud Mum of two boys who are my focus at the weekends. I also enjoy a challenge, so climbed Snowdon last year and this year I am looking to tackle Ben Nevis.
