Financial Planner
Carlisle office

What attracted you to a career in financial planning?

Experience of helping others, within the emergency services and subsequently within financial services, set me on the path to become a Financial Planner. This experience prompted the question, 'Can you learn something that will help others as they plan for and navigate the challenging times in their lives?'. The attraction of wealth management is that it provides the opportunity to help clients by offering suitable, tailored advice.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

Client relationships are built on trust, reliability and integrity as well as a fundamental understanding of each client's aspirations and circumstances. Some of the most rewarding parts of the role are forming long-standing client relationships, identifying their goals and delivering financial plans that meet their needs. Understandably, over the course of a lifetime, goals can change and the opportunity to sit down with clients and regularly review their plans, to adapt to their changing needs, is hugely fulfilling.

What are your interests outside of work?

Quality time with loved ones, occasionally hitting a fairway at the golf course (with emphasis on the occasionally) and enjoying the fantastic scenery that Cumbria has to offer.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
