Climate Assets monthly update: Health is the new wealth

Date: 16 July 2024

1 minute read

Warren Buffet once said “the best investment you can make is in yourself”.  Clearly healthcare is fundamentally important in achieving that.  Our latest webinar ‘Health is the new wealth’ – available now to watch on demand – explores this topic.

Health is one of the five key sustainable investment themes we target and of growing importance in an ageing world where one in six people will be over 65 by 2050. Trends such as rising obesity and higher levels of pollution are further straining healthcare systems. Our investment in Novo Nordisk, with its weight loss drug ‘Wegovy’, has been a key positive contributor to recent performance in both Climate Assets Funds.

We also discuss how some of our AI stocks play a vital role in image recognition technologies, enhancing the accuracy of screening and scans. Our Head of Distribution shared how his wife was part of an AI trial that resulted in an early detection missed by radiologists, poignantly bringing home how powerful these technologies are and their potential to make a real difference to lives.
