Investment Manager, Quilter Cheviot
Leeds

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

Investment management was something I was exposed to during my time working within a Private Client law firm in Yorkshire. Having initially trained as a lawyer, I was attracted to the continually evolving market environment as well as the long-term relationships you form with clients. On becoming a Chartered Fellow of the CISI, I specialised in the bespoke management and construction of portfolios, achieving a client’s long term financial objectives through the collaborative work done with them and their wider family. The relationship of trust that is established continues to be an extremely rewarding part of the role that I play, one which I have the privilege of undertaking often with more than one family generation.

What would you like to achieve for clients?

My main aim is in providing clients peace of mind that their financial goals can be met through the collaborative work done with them. Where clients are unfamiliar to investing, I find it extremely rewarding to help them feel empowered in the financial choices they make. The foundations to this is formed through a relationship of trust. Clients know that I will always be there for them and their family. Individual circumstances will change over time, and I pride myself that clients know they can always rely on me to put forward solutions that work for them both now and in the future.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband and young son actively running around the Yorkshire countryside trying to keep up! As a founder of Quilter Cheviot’s national Advising Female Clients Initiative, I work with local schools to get young women engaged with investing as a career option, actively looking to increase female representation within the wealth management community. I am an active member of the Women in Business Giving Circle whose purpose is to support small local charities with funds to help community organisations working with women, girls, and their families.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
