Oliver went to high school at Michaelhouse in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. He completed two degrees concurrently at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg: a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounts, Finance and Investment, and a Bachelor of Building Science (Construction Management) Honours.
He obtained his Masters in Wealth Management in the United Kingdom through the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments and became a Fellow of the institute in 2011.
Oliver started his career in the City of London in 2001 and has been working in the financial markets ever since. He has been a discretionary fund manager for Quilter Cheviot since February 2012.
Previously, Oliver worked as an institutional sales trader for SEB, one of Sweden’s largest banks. He was also a stockbroker, working within private equity and dealing with the Alternative Investment Market (AIM). He was also an investment specialist at Edward Jones and what is now Tilney Bestinvest. Oliver has extensive experience in constructing well diversified investment portfolios for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients in both the United Kingdom and South Africa.
Oliver enjoys outdoor activities. Alongside his wife he spends time walking across the Hampshire and Wiltshire countryside. Time allowing, Oliver likes to escape for a spot of trout fishing. He also enjoys reading, sailing, gardening, travelling, and listening to music.
