Simon Doherty

Lead Portfolio Manager
Role at Quilter Cheviot
As lead portfolio manager on the MPS team, my role is to construct and implement our range of investment strategies on behalf of clients invested in our service. The MPS strategies are actively managed, independently risk-profiled and each one is designed to deliver a different investment objective. The service therefore seeks to provide clients with a straightforward, cost-effective way to benefit from our investment expertise, irrespective of whether their aim is to preserve or grow their wealth.Another of my key responsibilities is to chair Quilter Cheviot’s Investment Funds Committee (IFC). The purpose of the IFC is to provide guidance to investment managers across the business who are constructing a portfolio of collective investments (“funds”) on behalf of their clients. With the MPS strategies also investing exclusively in funds, my involvement in this aspect of the firm’s investment process ensures that they encapsulate Quilter Cheviot’s highest-conviction fund research ideas.

A graduate of Trinity College Dublin with a first class honours degree, Simon has completed the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), the CISI Masters in Wealth Management and has passed Level I of the CFA Program. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Simon joined Quilter Cheviot as a graduate in August 2007, and worked in the Birmingham office as a discretionary investment manager prior to joining the MPS team in March 2013.
