With over 250,000 people having visited BBC Countryfile Live at Blenheim Palace since 2016, 2019 will see two events being staged with one at Castle Howard! BBC’s Countryfile is one of Britain’s most loved TV programmes, attracting over 5 million viewers each week and this year celebrated its 30th anniversary.

BBC Countryfile Live Castle Howard will include a range of features including the Village Green, the Countryfile Experience featuring the programmes presenters, the Wildlife Zone, Farming in Action and Passion for British Livestock. The new event will represent the best of the northern countryside and celebrate regional farming, capturing the essence of the Yorkshire countryside, in the county where presenter John Craven got his first break as a reporter on the Harrogate Advertiser.

Castle Howard is one of Britain’s finest historic houses, situated just outside York in the Howardian Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Built over 300 years ago by Sir John Vanbrugh, today it remains home to the Howard family. Venue access information

Castle Howard and its parks and gardens are all fully accessible; however, because this is natural site with uneven ground, a variety of ground surfaces, slopes and a large event area, we strongly recommend that an able-bodied personal assistant accompany those who require assistance.
